I am excited to be offering 30 days of fun crafts to keep kids active and entertained this summer! You won’t want to miss a day of these fun crafts for kids from some amazing bloggers! Please be sure to pay them a visit!
Hi there. I’m Jenny from www.crescendoh.com and I’m honored to be part of Skip To My Lou’s Craft Camp 2012! Whee! Here’s a fun project that’ll keep the whole family happily busy. 🙂
Take a strip of book page or sheet music or deli paper and brush on a small amount of Liquitex Gloss Medium. Allow about an inch or two at one end remain dry so you can trim it once the paper is wrapped around the pencil.
Wrap the paper around a pencil or colored pencil. Using a pencil without an eraser is preferred.
Twist the top portion of the pencil and then cut that top portion into small strips or into a chevron motif. Wrap a length of Baker’s twine to the upper portion of the pencil. Add a bit of lace or a small button if you like.
Once dry, the papers will be well adhered, allowing the pencils to be sharpened with use.
i love these! I recently discovered these via pinterest and will be featuring them on Dollar Store Crafts in the next week.
this is really cute.
