I found this recipe years ago (in a magazine but can’t remember which one) and I must warn you, it is so yummy and addictive! The best part about this pecan praline sauce is that it is made in the microwave, so it is fast and simple and makes a great edible homemade holiday gift. This decadent sauce is also the perfect topping for a French vanilla ice cream.

Praline Sauce
1 1/4 cups chopped pecans
7 Tablespoons butter (divided)
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
3 Tablespoons flour
3/4 cup light corn syrup
2/3 cup evaporated milk
Makes 3 cups of sauce.
Place chopped pecans in a microwave dish with 3 Tablespoons of butter. Melt butter and cook with the pecans for 8 – 10 minutes, stirring twice. Watch the pecans closely to not burn them.
In another microwave safe bowl (I use a glass batter bowl because it has a lip for pouring) place remaining butter and heat until melted. Whisk in brown sugar, flour, and light corn syrup until blended. Cook on high 6-8 minutes, stirring twice, until the sugar is dissolved.
Add in 2/3 cup evaporated milk and the pecans, stir well with a plastic or wooden spoon.
Pour into a mason jar (or multiple, depending on how many gifts you’re giving).
Last step: Add a tag and bow and you have made some sweet little gifts! Consider packaging with a cool ice cream scoop (homemade ice cream would be even more delicious if you have an ice cream maker) to make it extra special. Put instructions on the back of the tag to keep sauce refrigerated and to reheat in low heat in the microwave to pour over ice cream.
If eating immediately after the main meal, let it cool down to room temperature before.
YUM! Isn’t this praline sauce recipe so easy? You can add it to your apple pie, bread pudding, or with a small amount of cream. It’s become my favorite way to garnish my desserts!

Why can’t recipes be printer friendly? Or, have a printer friendly copy on the page somewhere?
How long of a shelf life does this have? Can they be mailed after they are made or should I set the jars in boiling water like canning? I would be afraid of mold if not refrigerated shortly after making them.
Hello, I also was so excited to find this recipe. I know it’s been asked several times, but I didn’t see an answer and really would like to know if these can be water bathed To keep on the shelf for storing and gift giving. If so do you please know how long they would take To process. I appreciate your time and help. Sincerely, Mrs. Sherry Siedlecki
Wow! At last I got a blog from where I be able to in
fact get valuable data regarding my study and knowledge.
When I initially commented I appear to have clicked on the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and
now every time a comment is added I receive 4 emails with the exact same comment.
Is there a way you are able to remove me from that service?
Thanks!
My pecans also burnt within 4 minutes. How strong (in Watts) was the microwave used in the original recipe? It would affect the timing quite a bit.
