Pineapple Drawing Guide Easy!
The instructions and illustrated images will show you how to draw this pineapple sketch from start to finish. So, all you need to do is follow the easy step by step guide and you will be amazed at your drawing skills!
- Draw a line (graphic vector) to plan and place your pineapple on the paper. Use a ruler to draw a vertical line from the top to the bottom of the middle of the paper for the graphic vector. Secondly, draw a horizontal line at the bottom 1/4th of the paper. Most importantly, do not draw all the way from one side to the other. This horizontal line represents the widest point of the pineapple’s body, so keep that in mind when drawing that line.
- In step two, draw a U shape wider at the bottom, and narrower at the top. Center this U shape in the grid lines drawn in step one. You can also think about the body of the pineapple as an oval shape if that helps. Now you have sketched the main body of your pineapple.
- In step three, draw the bottom leaves all drooping down. These 6 leaves are shaped like curvy triangles. Likewise, notice how some leaves appear to be underneath or tucked behind the others.
- In step four, draw another row of 6 bottom leaves pointing upwards and bending forward at the ends. These individual leaves are triangle shaped, kind of like shark’s teeth. Create the perception of a fold by drawing a moon-shaped figure at the top of the 3 folded leaves. Adding these details will produce a realistic pineapple drawing.
- Draw 6 more rows of 6 leaves repeating the same shapes of leaves that you see in the illustration. Notice how the rows get narrower and narrower working your way up to the leafy crown of the pineapple. Subsequently, there are only 3 crown leaves.
- Move to the bottom left of the pineapple and use the ruler to draw the first set of 6 parallel lines at a 45 degree angle from the middle line. Repeat on the right side with a set of lines; 5 parallel at a 45 degree angle,
- For step seven, erase the horizontal and vertical construction lines drawn in step one. In addition, re-trace all other lines with a black pen or black marker to make the textured inner pattern.
- Draw detailed lines in each segment of the pineapple. These detailed lines are drawn like small hills at the top of each segment. In addition, you can draw dots (the prickly spikes) under the curved lines to add even more detail.
- The final touch is to color the pineapple’s crown leaves green and pineapple yellow to make a realistic pineapple. Your pineapple illustration is complete!
