Fabric Notebook Cover

Posted by  ·  November 16, 2009  ·  Last Updated: April 21, 2018

These fabric covers for steno pads make great gifts for teachers, friends, co-workers… really anyone who might like to jot down notes in style.

They can be made totally reversible. They have a handy spot on the cover for a pen or pencil and an elastic closure.

I think these would make great little gifts when you just need a little something.  They are quick and easy!  If you would like a pattern for these I have a PDF you may download for $2.95.

It is an immediate download so you can have your pattern and be sewing right away! Yes, you could figure out how to make these, but if you don’t want to waste the time figuring out all of the measurements simply download three pages of detailed instructions. If you are interested visit the shop!

*3/8 yard each  of two different fabrics will make four covers

*You can find steno pads at Wal-Mart for just under a $1.00

Hi ! I downloaded the pattern for the fabric covered steno pads and am a little confused about the pocket pieces. The pattern says to fold them in half with wrong sides together and stitch across the top,,,ok,,so when I go to place them on the outer fabric, is the right sides of the pocket pieces facing up at me? thanks for any help you can give me , Judy

I am in awe and am totally over the moon to see such wonderful fabric design. My mind is running wild with possible ideas of things to be made! I particularly love this notebook cover, I am going to make one for each of my kids and their cousins and their friends and their teachers. I am going to be busy for a long time! Thanks for sharing!!!

Thanks for offering the pattern for this. I first thought of these covers as a teacher gift, but on second thought decided to make one for every woman I know for Christmas this year. Completely economical, practical, and cute! The tutorial was fool proof. Steno pad + pen + fabric only cost me about $3 to make each one, but they look like so much more.

I made this and your reversible tote bag one day and I almost finished them both while my 3 kids napped. I am not a fast sewer and didn't even have a rotary cutter at the time. They made a great birthday present for a 15 year old girl.

I saw in one of my parent and child magazines, these really pretty Sudoku books with pretty fancy covers so no one knows you are doing Sudoku. I guess some people don't like the covers on the books that they usually come with. These would be really cool alternatives. If you could just slip your book in.
