Driftwood Play figures {Craft Camp}

I am excited to be offering 30 days of fun crafts to keep kids active and entertained this summer! You won’t want to miss a day of these fun crafts for kids from some amazing bloggers! Please be sure to pay them a visit!

Hello everyone! My name is Lucy – mommy to three little monkeys and wife to prince charming. You can find me over at Craftberry Bush, where I share a little piece of my heart as I hope to inspire those gracious enough to stop by.

I’m excited to be here today to share a little craft with you that was not only fun to make, but brings you outdoors…

We are lucky to live close to the waterfront, so finding little pieces of driftwood is relatively easy. The kiddies loved this part as each one of them had the task of finding the “perfect” piece of driftwood…

But if you can’t get your hands on driftwood, plain rocks or sticks will work just as well.

Materials needed

Driftwood, flat rocks or small sticks

Permanent marker

DecoArt acrylic paint (outdoor paint preferrably)

Paint brush

Simply have your kiddies draw an image onto the driftwood, stone or stick with a permanent marker (try to keep the images simple with minimal detail) and then grab your DecoArt paint, brushes and paint away.

If you get a chance to visit my blog, you’ll see I tend to love anything beachy. So here is my contribution. I found this perfectly surfboard shaped driftwood and just couldn’t help myself…;)

The great thing about this craft is that even the boys got into it. This is our oldest boy’s drawing. I’m clearly bias, but I think he is an amazing blooming artist…

You can create an entire scene or recreate a fairy tale…Little Red Riding Hood, The Three Little Pigs, etc. The possibilities are endless and so is the fun to be had.

I think these would make great little gifts for a beach themed party or just as an end to school gift. They will become a great addition to those beach toys 🙂

Thank you so much for reading along…hope to see you again soon!

much love,
