Invite your kids to make some DIY Jewelry for some added glamor on vacation this summer with Skip To My Lou and MollyMooCrafts.
Hello Skip to My Lou readers! I am delighted to be back with you again this year for more Summer Camp fun. I’m Michelle from MollyMooCrafts, where I blog about crafts for kids and crafts for parents to make with and for their kids. Last year I shared how to make a fun DIY take along game of tic tac toe, today I am sharing a fun and quick DIY jewelry pasta art and craft project that will keep your kiddos engaged before, during and after the holidays!
There are so many ways to color pasta, such as dying it naturally, but in the interest of speed we painted ours using acrylic paints. We recently make some cute macaroni cat necklaces and macaroni marshmallow necklaces so as you can see we’ll a little obsessed with pasta crafts of late!
Here’s all you need to make
– Large dried pasta tubes
– Paint & brushes
– Mini pom poms
The process is very straightforward and quick, let’s get started…..
First gather your dried pasta tubes, 6 of 7 pieces should do it.
Then string the tubes along a wooden spoon or paint brush handle to hold them steady while you paint the base color.
When the white is dry paint on your designs in a second bright and contrasting color, invite the kids to ‘get creative’ with their designs xx
And finish your necklace by threading the painted pasta and pom poms on the string.
How cool! Told you this was quick and easy 🙂
Want to make a few with your kids this summer?
Of course you do!
happy making, happy wearing, happy summer xx
