Did you know that most dryer sheets are made with animal tallow? That means you are drying your clean clothes with fat. The sheets  can leave a gummy residue on the fabric’s surface which can dull colors over time.  That’s dirty, sticky and gross.

The other sad thing about dryer sheets is that most dryer sheets are often made out of polyester, so they can’t be composted or recycled after you use them.

The good news is that you  can now ditch the dryer sheet because of a company that cares about our bodies and our environment.

Method’s Dryer Activated Fabric Softener

Method Dryer Activated Fabric Softener

I must admit I  am very careful (okay almost paranoid) about laundry. Our clothes rub against our skin all day and I worry about absorbing those chemicals from detergents into our skin 24 hours a day. I always want my laundry to have a lovely scent, but always go for unscented and then feel I am missing out. Well no longer!

We love this dryer-activated fabric softener. This ultra-concentrated, hypoallergenic formula with smartsoft technology® softens fabric, reduces static plus leaves ours clothes smelling fresh and oh so soft!  I also have to give a shout out to Method’s laundry soap. Amazing!

And after 100 loads, Method’s fabric spray bottle is made from 100% PCR PET plastic and can be recycled. Now that is clean happy inside and out! Join the people against dirty on facebook!

  1. You can let the Method company know that after reading your post and another blogger’s post about this, I ran out and bought the lavender one. I’m already a Method lover, so I am a bit biased, but this spray is excellent. I wouldn’t have found out about it for quite sometime either because I buy the big Method refill bags of detergent and rarely have to go down the laundry aisle.

  2. Hi @Kelly and @RobinM. I’m Meagan from our community team at method. we’re really sorry to hear you’ve had issues with our new dryer spray. Please reach out to us at info@methodhome.com so we can help you.

  3. Yes, we have cold Kansas winters and I am blonde (don’t know if it is my fair skin or because I am dry) and am prone to static electricity. I really think this will do the trick! I love how soft it makes our clothes and I don’t feel guilty using it!

  4. I saw the nozzle complaints on their website, so was nervous, but I have used it on at least 15 or more loads of laundry and haven’t had any trouble. My teen boy uses it also (and I can’t imagine he is too careful and he loves it). I wonder if they have improved the bottle.

  5. I just switched to Method hand soap and absolutely love it. I keep looking at their kitchen and laundry cleaners wondering if I would love them as well. Thank you for the info, I am going to pick some up and try it. I hate using dryer sheets because of the residue but it is one of those things you can’t really live without unless you like to get shocked or have your clothes wrinkled and not stay fresh smelling.

  6. This product is great but the nozzle never last past 3 loads of laundry. Everyone I know who uses it has had the same problem. Have you had the same issue?

  7. Thanks for the info. I like to find out about new products (new to me anyway). How do you use it? Do you have hard water and cold winter weather like I do (when I take my laundry out of the dryer in winter, I get the shock of my life if I forget a softener. Like a million volts, haha. Goodbye braincells)? Do you dry a lot of cotton (ie, tons of wrinkles)?
