These butter bar cookies are one of my most favorite treats! I got the recipe from my sister-in-law, whose Aunt Hunner made them for her.  I love recipes that are handed down from generation to generation.  If Aunt Hunner were still living she would be over 100 years old! 1. Is there a substitute for box of yellow cake mix. I’m not a fan of packet mix but love the sound of this recipe. Thanks.

  2. These sound fabulous. Have you ever tried them with a gluten free cake mix? Would they still work? Thanks.
