Crayola asked me to review their new Cling Creator. Since we are huge fans of the Crayola Marker Maker we of course said yes! We couldn’t wait for it to arrive. I am like a kid about these toys that make things. My boys made tons of shaped crayons with the Crayon Maker. Did you see the Crayon Carver? That looks so cool!
Crayola Cling Creator
The Crayola Cling Creator enables kids to create their own repositionable icons that stick to and peel from windows, mirrors, and other flat, smooth surfaces in minutes!
The girls worked together to measure,
mix,
and pour the special concoction into the plastic mold.
Don’t find a pre-made mold you like? Make your own. This is the part I really dig. The kit come with Crayola Modeling Clay and a drawing tool so you can create your own original mold.
Think of all the ways you could decorate your windows for the holidays. you can have the most colorful holiday ever! We made a Christmas ornament. First we poured in the red.
We allowed the red to dry then with a sharp knife cut away some of the red to give our ornament a stripe.
We then filled in the area with yellow.
These feel like the real thing! They are thick and flexible. So the verdict. On a scale of 1 to 10 Ava gave it a 10. She was super impressed. Bella gave it a 6. She said it was fun, but said the Marker Maker was more fun. From a mom’s perspective it was easy to put together, it did what it said it should do, produced a quality cling and the girls had a good time! We are exited to make candy cane clings for our windows.
It won some pretty impressive awards to back it up!
2015 AWARD WINNER!
Good Housekeeping, Best Toy Award; Dr. Toy, 100 Best Children’s Products; Tillywig, Best Creative Fun Award; Mom’s Choice, Gold Award; National Parenting Publications, NAPPA Silver Award.
I especially like that you don’t only have to use the five pre-made double-sided molds, older children will like that the Cling Creator comes with clay you can use to create your own mold designs. Use the included drawing tool, a stamp, or a toy to make impressions in the clay where you’ll pour your cling solution. This allows for the child to be super creative!
Bottom line. I am a fan of toys that encourage kids to think, imagine and be creative. Look around their webiste. So many ideas for kids to build creativity and turn off the TV and tablet. My daughter put the Easy Animation Studio and the Sketch Wizard on her list!
So what holiday window clings would you make? Use the Crayola Cling Creator to create a holiday design. Be sure to tag your creations with #ClingCreator for a chance to be featured on Crayola.com. How fun to have your child’s creation featured on the Crayola website! Here are a few clings we made…. be sure to show us yours! Here is ours!
