At first when she sent us the recipe I thought. What on earth! But while this seems like an elaborate plan… I promise it is worth every pan and measurement. This two roasting pan idea makes sure every handful of this snack mix is seasoned to perfection and makes enough for a crowd!

Megan’s Recipe

Chex Mix Ingredients

  • 510 grams Corn Chex
  • 510 grams Rice Chex
  • 396 grams Wheat Chex
  • 425 grams Mixed Nuts
  • 1 bag pretzels (we use a regular size box of cheese crackers or box of Cheerios because my kids aren’t pretzel lovers)
  • 2 sticks salted butter
  • Worstceshire
  • Seasoned Salt
  • Garlic Powder
  • Onion Powder
  • 2 large baking pans

To get each morsel seasoned my niece recommends the two pan method and I have to agree that this is a must!  In a large baking pan place half a box of each of the original chex cereals along with a half of the nuts and  1-2 cups pretzels.

In a bowl, mix  1 stick of melted butter. Add in 4 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, 3 teaspoons season salt, 1 1/2 garlic powder and 1 teaspoon onion powder.  Pour over one pan and stir in seasonings. Repeat for second pan. Bake 1 hour at 210 degrees stirring every 15 minutes.

  1. The truly is the BEST recipe. If I’m making it just for myself I leave out the pretzels so I don’t have to eat around them, lol. If I take this recipe to a party, i always come home with an empty bowl
