How to Make a Pom Pom Three Ways

Let’s create the perfect addition for your crafts: a lot of pom poms! Here are three different methods for making pom poms – using your hand, a fork, and cardboard. Each method is easy to follow and makes fluffy professional-looking pom poms that will elevate your crafting game. There are actual pom pom makers around, but why buy one if you can make it with any type of yarn and supplies you have at home? 

So, grab your yarn, and let’s get started!

Method 1: Using your hand

This pom-pom tutorial is the best way if you need a medium-sized pom pom and don’t have the special tools to make it.

  1. Hold the end of the yarn between your fingers and wrap the yarn around your fingers until it’s thick. wrap yarn around hand for pom pom
  2. Carefully slide the yarn off your fingers and tie a piece of yarn tightly around the middle of the bundle. tie yarn in middle

Method 2: Using a fork

This method to make perfect pom poms is as easy as method 1 too, and you don’t even need to go to the craft store – simply grab a fork and make sure you have enough yarn. This method will make a dense pom pom.

  1. Hold the end of your yarn between the two middle prongs of a fork. place yarn between tines of fork

Method 3: Using cardboard
