Welcome Amy,

Hello! I’m Amy from amy is the party, back again this year with another Valentine printable. This year, I decided to make hot cocoa Valentines – something warm and sweet to drink while the weather is still chilly. Since there is more than one way to make hot chocolate, I included 2 different gift ideas that you can use conjunction with the printable I designed. Enjoy!

Valentine Hot Chocolate Spoons & Printable Tags

Hot Chocolate Spoon Supplies

  • Disposable Spoons (Wooden spoons can be purchased at party or craft stores.)
  • Melted Chocolate Chips
  • Crushed Candy Cane, Valentine Sprinkles, and/or Mini Marshmallows (The tiny marshmallows I used are Kraft Jet-Puffed Mallow Bits.)
  • Waxed Paper
  • Twine
  • Clear, Glassine, or other food safe favor bags
  • Hot Cocoa Printable Tags (PDF)

Hot Chocolate Spoon Directions

Melt a small bag of semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips in a small saucepan on your stove top, on medium-low heat. Stir the chocolate chips until thoroughly melted.

Hold the wooden spoon by the handle and dip the spoon part into the chocolate, covering bother the front and backside of the spoon.

Set the chocolate covered spoon on a piece of waxed paper, so that the chocolate doesn’t stick when it hardens. While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle on a bit of crushed candy, sprinkles, or marshmallow bits.

Hot Chocolate Spoons

Repeat until you have made the desired amount of chocolate spoons. Package in small favor bags. Tie on a Valentine tag with a bit of twine or ribbon.
