Bella and I worked on her Valentines yesterday. She will be handing out these ladybug valentines.

We used red and white card-stock along with brads(metal paper fasteners), 4 1/2 ” square of black tissue paper, Tootsie Pops and wiggly eyes. Yes, black brads would have been easier, but I couldn’t find them anywhere. So we colored ours with a sharpie marker and it worked perfect!

If you want to make some ladybug valentines, here is the download for the body and wings.

Ladybug Valentines – Wings

We placed a little glue stick around the bottom of the wrapper and wrapped the black tissue paper around the sucker.  Next we attached the wings to the body with the brads, then hot glued the ladybug to the sucker.

Finished!

  1. Love this craft, so cute!!! I love ladybugs! The only problem I had was when I printed the bodies, the writing is good but there’s a black line going down the middle of it! Our use of colored printing is limited, so I’m going to have to just use them. The black line wasn’t in the document before printing, so I’m a little confused as to why it did that. But still a super cute craft!!! 🙂

  2. Hi! I love this!
I’m doing a round-up of Valentine’s Printables and was wondering if I could use an image from your post for both the post and a combined marketing (Pinterest, etc) image?
I already linked you, but wanted permission before using an image!
    Thanks either way.

  3. Nice answer back in return of this issue with solid arguments and describing the whole thing concerning that.

  4. These are wonderful and a delight to the people we hand delivered them to. However, mailing them in an envelope is a problem, at least in Canada. The 14 cent tootsie pop in the envelope makes the envelope become thicker than 2 cm and means it becomes a parcel rate of over $10. So for the ones we mailed to the Grandparents, etc, we made Ladybug heads out of black construction paper.

  5. Well I think it was a an issue printing in Google Chrome. I downloaded the file and then printed using Adobe on my computer and no black line. Thanks again!

  6. My daughter and I started making these for her class Valentines. Thank you for the wonderful project!

  7. The body is not printing correctly. I am also getting the circle with the black line down the center.(none of the words are printing) The wings came out great though.
