Print the labels on 1-up sticker paper, available at Kinko’s or OfficeMax. They will sell this sticker/label paper by the sheet. You can even email them the PDF and they can print for you. This will give the best quality label.

Gather some baking cups and twine or ribbon.

Place lid on jar. Stick instruction to top of lid. Place a stack of baking cups over lid, fasten with ribbon or twine.

  1. Hello Karin, click on the heading under the picture https://www.skiptomylou.org/muffin-jar-recipe/ and it will take you to the post with the link for the download. The download link is under the picture in the second post. This was orgiginally a guest post on another blog, why it was done this way. So sorry for the confusion.

  2. Kind of useless when you don’t list the wet ingredients that need to be added…I also don’t see the “printable” version. Probably because there are so many ads.

  3. We made these for neighbor gifts to go with some apple butter we made.

We had to of course test out the recipe for ourselves and they were AMAZING!

    Thank you for sharing.

  4. Hello Michelle,
Canning jars are not really designed for the high, dry heat of ovens.I haven’t tried baking in them but have seen muffins served in them like this https://www.skiptomylou.org/how-to-make-cupcakes-in-a-jar-teacher-appreciation/

Country Living Magazine says this: We do not recommend baking in any size or shape of Ball or Kerr canning jars. The glass used for Ball and Kerr canning jars is not tempered for oven use and is not meant to be used in baking projects.

  5. I don’t want to know how to make muffins in a jar that are dry. I would like to know how to make literally bake muffin mix in a jar or even bread I need to know the process. Do you have anything about that please

  6. What temperature for the oven and how long do you cook days and also is the brown sugar and flour for the tops of the muffins? Susan

  7. Donna, I haven’t tried making it gluten and dairy free. I would think if you choose a cup for cup gluten-free flour blen it would work. I typically have good luck substituting oat and coconut milk in baking.
