Hi Skip to My Lou readers! This is Amber from Crazy Little Projects here and SO happy to be posting with this Summer Craft Camp Series! This project today makes me really happy. It was fun for ME to make and my kids ate it up! My 10 year old boy spent over an hour working on his and was just in absolute heaven doing it. It’s a perfect project for summertime because your kids will enjoy making it AND will have a fun way to remember summer! It’s a Paper Bag Journal. It’s so easy to make and turns out so cute!
Paper Bag Journal Tutorial:
I made these journals with the girls at church recently (these are a great project for young women activity nights) and when my boys saw them they wanted to try too, so I figured it would be a perfect project for summer! It’s a simple, very easy to make journal that they can stick ticket stubs or pictures, things they collect from the summer in and they can write or put pictures in as well. And seriously-this is easy enough that you can get them started and they can totally finish it themselves!
Here’s how my 10 year old’s turned out:
He is SO proud of it!
Supplies Needed:
- 4-5 brown paper lunch bags
- stapler
- glue, tape, glue dots, etc.
- scrapbook paper, stickers, crayons, markers, ribbon, buttons, brads, and whatever else you want to embellish with
Instructions:
Grab your brown bags and fold them each in half. Put them all together with the folded side to the left and staple them several times along the edge:
Let the kids decorate!
You can put scrapbook paper inside to create pages:
You can add ribbon to embellish.
You can use the pockets to put keepsakes or pictures in. Just make cute pages that pictures can be added to later:
Just have fun with it! So easy right?!
