Do you want to know how to make your grill non-stick? This is a a great tip!  We love a good household tip here at Skip to my Lou.  I mean who doesn’t want to know how to make life easier! Did you know a simple mixture of two ingredients you have right in your pantry will make your shower sparkle? I can also share how to unclog your drain with two ingredients! This tip saved me over $100.  My husband tried everything to unclog our kitchen sink, even a 25 foot snake. He finally gave up and I was able to show him how to unclog a drain naturally! We actually both were shocked at how well it worked.

My cute new nephew-in-law, Tyler, is here to share this amazing tip with us!

  1. I’ve always done that. Growing up I saw my dad doing it to clean of the old food but never realized it kept it from sticking. It does not make your grilled food taste like onions. And its better than using a dirty grill brush all the time.

  2. What a cool idea! And what a hot nephew! Lolol! Thanks for the great tip! I love onions and I always have them on hand so this is great for me!
    Thank you for this!

  3. ur nephew i law in the 1st pic looks like leanardo dicaprio— also have a hint…to get the onion smell off ur hands – rub them on stainless steel – sink, takes the smell off very well!

  4. I put my grills in the oven and clean them once a year as the oven is self cleaning.

  5. Nice tip with the onion and what a hottie of a nephew!! That’s really why I wanted to comment. 😉 He looks Leonardo DiCaprio-ish. :))

  6. Thanks for sharing such an easy awesome idea. We love the handy little tricks to help make grilling easy for summer. Now more time for sipping a margarita while grilling.

    Thanks,

  7. That is totally awesome! Who cares if it adds onion taste? I love onions!

  8. I don’t clean the grate after cooking. I allow the juices from whatever I’ve cooked to protect the grate until the next use. Then I fire up the grill to about 700 degrees F, clean the now burned juices off of the grate, turn the heat down to where I need for the dish I’m cooking then, using tongs, put cooking oil on a paper towel & wipe on the grate. Throw the oiled paper towel away, much cheaper than wasting 1/2 of an onion each time I grill, which in FL is about 4 -5 times a week on average.
