Have kids who love to paint and eat snacks? Then they will love this fun indoor activity!
Grab some marshmallows or popcorn, then make edible paint by mixing milk and food coloring together. For a thicker paint, try sweet evaporated milk.
After painting, sit out to dry for a pretty snack!
Pull out the food coloring and try it!

My kids have done this for years but they use a thin icing of milk, confectioners sugar and food coloring and paint Graham crackers and vanilla wafers. I’ll have to try the popcorn.
Sounds like a fun idea, but isn’t food coloring bad to ingest? Is there any natural alternatives to make these milk paints?
you can also put marshmallows on a plate in the microwave and see them grow!!!
also fun to get premade sugar cookies or do roll of sugar cookies from the store and paint or make individual fruit pizzas with a little cream cheese and asst fruits,
good summer project
Great … let’s teach little kids to eat things that look like paint.
WOW!!! What a fun idea! We painted our lunch today! Penne pasta with milk and food coloring! My 3 year old was so excited! The penne was perfect because the lines gave the paint a pattern. Next I think we will try it with Bow Ties (Farfalle) So fun and So easy. I used small metal condiment bowls – (think ketchup for French fries size – I think I got them at Walmart) I made 3 – red, blue and green and placed them in a pasta bowl with the pasta – worked great, no spills 🙂
I’m sorry I didn’t see it bahahaha I’m so silly!!!
How exactly make the paint???
