Welcome Amy from Mod Podge Rocks !

Hello there! I’m Amy from Mod Podge Rocks and Washi Tape Crafts. Do you have a little princess that likes to play dress up? I highly suggest a magic wand! This is actually an inexpensive yard decoration ($1) that I found at a local craft store – they always have these type of things there and are easy to find! With supplies that I already had on hand, I was able to make a wand fit for a princess on a budget. Keep in mind that because this is wood, it’s for older princesses only! Always make sure to use with adult supervision.

To make, you’ll need to gather these supplies:

“Magic” wand – decorative wood stick
FolkArt Acrylic Paint – Ocean Cruise, Wicker White, Perfect Purple, Kelly Green or the colors of your choice
Glitter in the colors of your choices
Mod Podge Gloss
Paintbrushes
Ribbon – 6 feet of your choice, I used white chiffon

Paint your wood piece with the colors of your choice. Paint both sides and let dry.

Don’t forget to paint the stick as well as the petals – use coordinating colors.

You can even add polka dots to the flower with the end of your paint brush.

To add glitter, paint Mod Podge onto portions of the flower and add glitter. Tap off and let dry. Repeat with other colors.

How to decorate a magic wand

Let your finished wand dry completely and then add chiffon ribbon to finish.

Don’t forget to visit me at Mod Podge Rocks or Washi Tape Crafts for more ideas to keep your children busy this summer. See you soon!
