I find that I  usually try to enjoy the moment, but once the holidays get in full swing the chaos picks up the pace to such a fast rate that I haphazardly get through. I have to constantly remind myself to take time to enjoy the season and focus on the time spent with others and not just the buying of gifts and getting through.  There are so many wonderful ways during the holidays (and all year through) to share our blessings with others. I have found that in caring for and serving others is where true happiness is found. Paul McCartney said it best…And in the end, the love you get is equal to the love you give. I find it true, we are blessed when we bless others!

Another way that I keep my life in perspective is to count my blessings. I love the old hymn….

Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God hath done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

I am so thankful for my family and as you can see from our family picture…time passes quickly. It seems like yesterday those boys were playing legos. It is a constant reminder to enjoy, love, value, appreciate and care for each other daily. We must slow down and enjoy the moments. Someone once told me that the days are long but the months are short.   I am seeing that first hand.
