Removes Grease

You know those stubborn pans? There’s an easy trick: apply a few sprays of Windex to the greasy area and let it sit for 10 minutes. Then wipe and the grease will slide off like butter.  Be sure to give the pan a quick scrub before using it to cook.

Reduces Sting

Yep… One time I got stung by a jelly fish and my snorkeling guide used good old windex to reduce the pain.  It truly helped.   Just a few sprays on the area, as needed, can reduce pain from jelly fish stings!

Bug Repellant

When you need to get rid of a spider, try windex! Maybe you already have? Windex works as bug spray for ants, flies, and most other crawling bugs you might find around the house.  Be sure you only use  Windex to kill bugs on contact, not as a preventative measure.

Swelling

Yep. You read that right! One time my wedding ring got stuck (hot summers will do that) and my friend told me to try windex to remove it.  It reduced the swelling and my ring came right off.  Be sure to rinse skin with water, so it doesn’t irritate your skin.
You can also use windex as a diamond cleaner!

Remove Stubborn Stains

Simple spray on stain let it set for 10 minutes and then scrub.  I’ve seen it remove coffee, blood, and oil.** test in small area before using it on fabrics and carpet.

  1. I haven’t used Windex in years. To clean/wash my windows I mix ammonia and water (equal parts each) in a spray bottle. Works like a charm and is MUCH cheaper.

  2. Thank you! I added it to the post (just as you wrote it), I appreciate you telling me.

  3. Great list, but I didn’t see my favorite way to use Windex on it. Windex is THE BEST diamond cleaner!! Spray a little on your ring or soak your ring in a windex/water solution over night and it’ll sparkle like never before!! I’ve been doing it for years 🙂
