A few weeks ago I posted here about my Snapfish book and I asked for your help! {Believe me I needed it!}  Thank you to all of you for your many grand ideas! There were so many great things shared! Now with a little experience under my belt, I may be putting more of those ideas, to good use in future photo book projects! Several people mentioned making a Family Recipe Book. That idea immediately appealed to me! We have some dear friends coming to visit us soon who are not from America. I think this photo book will make the perfect “Welcome to America gift”! It’s full of American recipes, what could be more American?

Are all your photo’s sitting on your computer screaming to be seen? Do you need a quick and simple way to display them? Here are few more pages from my cookbook…

I encourage you to take photo’s of your family cooking and enjoying the recipes.   Then take a moment and create your own Family cookbook.  This would make a priceless gift for any one you love and is sure to be cherished for years to come!  Whatever you do I am now more convinced that it’s important to get all your cherished memories out of the archives and make something to share and display all of them! Write down your story, and become an author too!

Snapfish Family Recipe Book

I think I need to make somewhat of a confession here .  I must admit to you {my readers} that I have failed, at  showing off  my many memories that I have collected over the years.  Mind you I have made them and I have even carefully documented all these events in photo’s  yet they haunt me sitting in boxes or on my computer hidden from view.  Does anyone else do this?

Join me {help me} as I take a journey this holiday season with Snapfish.  I am excited {nervous} as I  learn more about this process of making a photo book. Whether you have tons of experienced in making photo books or you are like me with countless of your photo’s boxed up or saved in your computer {Shameful}.   I hope this will help you learn more about the process at Snapfish and that we both can find that it’s much  less overwhelming than I imagined.

They gave me two options for creating a photo book (and they are available to you too)

Option One: Utilize Snapfish’s Professional Photo Book Design Service

This new service is especially great if you’re crunched for time. All
you need to do is simply select the images and pictures you’d like
included in your photo book and a professional designer will put
everything together for you. The service enables you to review and
make changes to the photo book before it’s actually created.

Option Two: Create Your Own

If you’d rather put all of the pieces of the photo book together
yourself, including the images, pages, and décor, you can create your
own from scratch.

While I would prefer to create it all myself, realistically this is the reason all these pictures sit untouched.  So I am excited to see what they can do with my photo’s using their professional photo book design service!

Snapfish offers Easy – guided steps to help you make a book in a snap and they are beautiful {making me look professional}.  They allow a lot of freedom to make the book your own and there is a theme for almost any occasion.  I love that you can save time because you can upload pictures directly from websites you already use, like facebook and flicker.

This is it. That magical time of year when all thoughts are flung forward to a fleeting couple of days that represent the climax of our year. Whether its family, presents, egg nog or snow that you’re looking forward to, you can bet that the big day will sneak up on you. Its natural, after all, with the shopping, baking and preparing going on. You just lose track. Fear not, there is a solution! Check out this super easy and really neat paper countdown calendar! Its the perfect size to adorn a desk at work, or a mantel at home, and it will keep you up to date on how many days you have until showtime!

How To Make It:

1. Print out the template on a heavy card stock.
2. Cut out the designs along the solid lines.
3. Score along all of the fold lines. Fold and crease them.
4. For the first numbered block, glue the tab near the number 8 face to the edge of the 1 face. For the next, glue the tab near the 3 face to the 0 face.
5. Fold in the other sides, and glue the top and bottom shut.
6. For the outer sleeve/box, fold so that the letter A touches A, B touches B and so on. Use a dab of glue to hold these tabs together. Let dry.
7. Glue the tabs to the short side of the box, to create a flush inside space for the blocks. Let dry.
8. Place blocks in sleeve!

The warmest Holiday Wishes to you all!

This computer is great.  How useful to have one of these in your kitchen! I think it will become the new must have kitchen appliance.

Bridget generously shared her tips and tricks on cookie decorating. It was so easy to see her on the large screen. It is just like a TV.

We began our class by mixing up  some thick Royal icing and outlining our cookies with a round #3 pastry tip.

Then we flooded the middle with runny royal icing from squeeze bottles.

We finished the cookies with some special details.

We had a great time baking up some fun with new All-in-One!
