Hello everyone. My name is Erin Vale and I am a freelance graphic designer who runs a small business and website, Vale Design. I specialize in package design, but I also have a mad passion for stationery, paper goods, list making and printables. Today I have collaborated with a talented friend to make a free printable treat for all of you!

{Drum roll please} I am blessed to call this woman friend. She has been a creative confidant of mine for some time and I am super excited to introduce her to all of you. Her name is Lori McDonough and she is a professional illustrator and all around super hero/mom. She runs a successful studio, Whimsy Studios and blog, Fresh Picked Whimsy. Whimsical just might be the best way to describe her style. Admiring one of Lori’s adorable illustrations will make you smile and lets you discover a little piece of Lori herself.

The two of us got together {along with our third creative partner in crime} for lunch and brainstorming and out of that came the Latte Notes. Lori’s idea and illustration bring my love for practical design and list making to life! This is what happens when two crazy creatives put their heads and talents together! Printable Kids Can / Can't Play Door Hanger Download

1. Print on white card-stock
2. Trim on cut marks
3. Fold in half
4. Secure with glue along the side.
5. With a large circle punch, make hole in center, 3/4” down from the top.
6. Cut slit from top of paper to hole (or) attach ribbon for hanging.
7. Hang on your door!

Printable Mardi Gras Mask

I cut slits on the side of the mask so it will fit snugly but allow the sides to stick out.  Punch a small hole on each side and then tie on some elastic thread.

I  was wishing we had some feathers to add to our colors and glitter! It doesn't matter though, she is ready to party!

Update:

I think the comment from Susan is true.  I don't think putting the glitter around the eyes was a good thing.  It would be really easy to get into their eyes.  Actually I think if any glitter is used on the mask it should be glitter glue----so the glitter is incased in the glue and won't flake off!  Thanks, Susan!

These are very easy to make, but if you want a simple pattern so you don't have to spend time figuring it out you may download the

Baby Doll Diaper Pattern

Instructions for making a diaper for a child's doll:

Cut two pieces of fabric.  I used a soft flannel, in pink of course (in my daughter's eyes there are no other colors).

Stitch the two pieces right sides together.  Leave about a 2 inch opening on the straight edge along the back for turning.

Clip corners and curves.  Turn the fabric right side out.  Whip stitch opening closed.  Sew velcro on the inside of the back flaps and on the outside of the front. I am confusing the you with the picture. Pretend it is flipped over.  Actually this is easy, just lay your diaper out and fold it up and you will see where the velcro goes.  It is probably a good idea to try it on your doll to get the correct velcro placement.

These only take minutes, including the time it takes to re-thread the sewing machine needle when the thread breaks sewing the velcro on (does anyone have any tips for this). My daughter aka "little mommy" will be in heaven with this gift

You will need 1 bath towel with at least 36 inches of space between the ribbing and 6 inches of 1/2 wide elastic.

Printable Towel Wrap Instructions

Fold the bath towel in half right sides together length ways. Measure 36" across the bottom of the towel (opposite) from the fold.

Cut out your shape

On the long end (where back of head goes) place a 6 inch piece of elastic folded in half about 3 inches up from the bottom

Stitch around the towel 1/2 from the edge leaving the bottom open. Zig Zag or overcast your seams to prevent unraveling.

Turn right side out and your are finished.

My sweet friend Jenni will model how this works.  After your shower or bath you lean over and place your wet hair in the towel.

Then starting at your forehead you twist to the end--catching all of your hair inside

Take the end and pull it over your head and fasten in the back in the elastic loop!  How cool is that?

I found the idea for this great project at Perfect Little Stitches. I though, adjusted the measurements for my version for a slightly different fit.

Here is gift idea for a child using a towel.

Child's Hooded Towel

All you need is two pieces of fabric 6 1/2" X 7" each.

With right sides together stitch 1/4 inch from the edge all around the outside of the fabric. Leave about 1-2" opening on the LONG side for turning.

Turn and press. Make sure to press the opening to the inside.

Bring short edges to the middle. Place the fabric you want on the outside in the inside.

You can choose whether to meet the edges exactly in the middle (left picture) or overlap the edges by about 1/4 of an inch (right picture)

Stitch 1/4 inch from the edge along each end.

Turn right side out and fill with your pocket tissues. I put a slit down the center of the plastic packaging on my tissues so they were easy to remove.

You could easily make a ton of these assembly style. They would make great little party favors, teacher gifts, thank you gifts or just to give someone a little something!

If you would like a cute way to package your handmade gift you can download the Pillow Box Template.  Print on colored or printed cardstock, cut on solid lines, lightly score on all dotted lines, bring flap to opposite side and glue flap to inside and then fold in the ends.  Add a pretty bow and you're done!
