Recently I was able to take a trip to the Duncan Hines Test Kitchen. I was thrilled beyond belief! We spent the day learning about Duncan Hines and being truly inspired by their chef, Joe! My big take away was to try new things and experiment! I was also extremely impressed to see the importance this company places on being innovative and their dedication to provide quality products. Amazing!
So today I am doing a little experimenting! My family thought my recipe was a winner! If you like fruit pizza I think you will really like it!
Of course you will need a few yummy products from Duncan Hines. Grab a spice cake mix and a can of apple pie filling.
Apple Fruit Pizza With Spice Crust
Crust (two pizza crusts)
1 Duncan Hines Spice Cake Mix
4 Tablespoons Butter (melted)
4 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
2 Tablespoons Water
2 Eggs
Filling
1 Can Comstock Apple Pie Filling
Crumb Topping (topping for two pizzas)
1/2 Cup Flour
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
2 Tablespoon Cold Butter
Mix flour, brown sugar and butter together until crumbly.
For crust mix together; cake mix, melted butter, brown sugar, water and eggs. This mixture makes two pizza crusts. Press half the mixture into a 12 inch pizza pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Lightly spray a piece of plastic wrap and place sprayed side down on dough and press into pan. The mixture is sticky and this trick will help get the job done!
Bake crust for 10 mins at 350 degrees. Remove from oven and pour apple pie filling over crust. Sprinkle crumb topping over the apples. Bake another 10 mins.
Take a moment to visit Duncan Hines. You will be amazed at the recipes you will find and also see some brand new products. They are sure to turn you into a Sweet Star at your home! I know they made me feel like one!

We ate it warm out of the oven. It would be great with ice cream. It is also yummy at room temperature (I had another slice today!)
Do you serve this warm , straight out of the oven? or eat it cooled as well ?
