This crisp is a really good reason to fill your pantry with homemade apple pie filling.  All I had to do was open one of these jars and make a simple crisp topping. If you don’t have homemade apple pie filling you can use fresh apples or purchase apple  pie filling.

Apple Crisp Topping

3/4 cup flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 cup oatmeal
1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, diced

To make the topping, combine the flour, sugars, salt, oatmeal, and  butter in the bowl of  a food processor or an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Mix on low speed until the mixture is crumbly.
