Welcome Angela,

Hi everyone!  I’m Angela, and I’m so excited to be sharing with you all!

Although I usually put my artistic focus on my writing, my photography, and my food, I do love giving sweet personalized gifts.  Lately, I’ve been enjoying passing the winter days with my kiddos, lighting a cinnamon candle and hitting “play” on our favorite tunes, and painting up a watercolor storm.  This project was super simple, and it gave the kids a chance to personalize a gift that looks so pretty!

Start by swishing on watercolor in colored streaks onto an 8-1/2×11 sheet of watercolor paper.  (Messy is just fine here!  If you want more soft or blended colors, just add a bit more water and blend away!  We had a larger paper size, so we just cut it to size.)  Set aside your painting to dry while you decide on your gift.  I made these paleo, allergy-friendly dessert cups to give as Valentine’s gifts, but you could do these any time, with just about any gift.  What about an individually wrapped cupcake?

Once your paper has dried, load your paper into your printer.  Open up this free printable on your computer and print it onto your watercolor. Tear out the individual “drawings” and punch a hole randomly near an edge.  The watercolor paper makes such pretty edges – and a different look whether you tear from front-to-back or back-to-front.

Tie a ribbon gently through the tag to attach it and you have the prettiest little hand-made artwork.  If you want to get really fancy, you can glue your tag onto an additional piece of scrapbooking paper and hand-tear it as well.
