Are you looking for must read books? I have asked Laura to share some new favorites, I can’t wait to read!

I love a book that grabs you immediately and you can’t put it down.  I have listened to several this year that I can’t stand to stop reading.  I usually listen to book on my phone while driving or out walking.  Each of these books is very different but you will find yourself up late, sneaking a break to get another chapter in, and quickly finishing several books.

must read books

Gone Girl

must read books

This book is now a movie!  Gone girl opens up with Nick finding his wife missing! Quick and fast paced you quickly see the marriage was far from perfect! There are a lot of twists that will surprise you, you won’t see this one coming.

The Secret Life Of CeeCee Wilkes

must read books

An unsolved murder. A missing child.  A lifetime of deception.  I loved this book because it didn’t take long to “hook” you and it kept me guessing and very interested the entire time! I read it in just two days! The story opens where you meet CeCe a naive vulnerable girl who has spent her life needing love. How she gets caught up in a crime and deals with the aftermath is totally enthralling!

What Alice Forgot

must read books

I read this book in just about a day.  The story begins as a women has a fall and wakes up missing 10 years of her life.
The story grabs you immediately and while it has a chick lit feel- it works. I found the story thought provoking on many levels.

Unbroken

books

Amazing true story of survival that kept me on the edge of my seat! The strength, courage, and most importantly the optimism of the men involved reveals just how much can be endured and overcome while somehow remaining Unbroken.

And the Mountains Echoed

books

If you enjoyed the Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns you will like his third novel.  In this tale revolving around not just parents and children but brothers and sisters, cousins and caretakers, Hosseini explores the many ways in which families nurture, wound, betray, honor, and sacrifice for one another; and how often we are surprised by the actions of those closest to us, at the times that matter most.

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn

book

I am a little late finding this classic novel! This will become one of my all time favorite books. It has amazing insight into the human heart and what motivates people to act the way they do.  The story just came alive for me and by the end I missed every character so much!

Before I Go To Sleep

books

Memories define us. So what if you lost your memories each night when you went to sleep? You don’t remember who you are, you name, your age, even the people you love — all forgotten overnight. And the one person you trust may only be telling you half the story.  Welcome to Christine’s life. I literally could not put this story down either.  Language warning.

The Fault In Our Stars

the fault in our stars

This young adult novel was surprisingly interesting and compelling.  A story of two teens struggling with cancer. The issues they face and their sweet love story was a fast and easy read.  You will cry.

The False Prince

great books

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I never wanted to put it down and didn’t want it to end – I’m so glad it’s part of a trilogy! This is easily a book you could read with your children it has action, adventure and mystery!  Five stars.

Unwind

great books

This book is about kids who are unwanted teens. Lost in a system which has no value for them, alive. This is a society where unwanted teens are salvaged for their body parts, called “unwinding”. You are taken on a journey where these teens discover themselves while fighting to stay alive.
What makes us alive? When does life begin? This book was a fast paced, gripping novel.
