  2. There are so many cute mugs around for all holidays and occasions that it is really tempting to buy/make them for teacher gifts. They are easy to buy and parents seem to think that their choice is unique. As a retired nursery school teacher, I assure you that teachers receive multiple mugs each year. I appreciated every gift I received and the thought behind it. Most teachers appreciate something consumable such as, homemade cookies, or candy. What they really appreciate most of all is a note written by a parent or child expressing their appreciation. It takes a little time and effort, but the results are far beyond anything you could buy. I still have every kind note that was written to me. All you have to do is take a stroll around your local Goodwill to see the many mugs donated by teachers
