Teacher Appreciation Week is the first full week in May. Through all of April I am excited to share some amazing ideas from some of the most wonderful bloggers for my Teacher Appreciation Gift Ideas series! It’s a great month! You will be totally prepared with ideas to thank your teachers!

Hi everyone! I’m Stephanie from Somewhat Simple and I have a fun Substitute Teacher Appreciation idea to share with you today! My daughter’s 1st grade teacher had a baby earlier this year, and while she was on maternity leave, my daughter had an AMAZING substitute teacher for 6 weeks. I didn’t realize it was her last day teaching until I went to volunteer in the classroom one day. I wanted to get her a card or SOMETHING, and time was running out, so I ran to the closest grocery store to see what I could come up with. I ended up thinking of a perfect gift for a substitute teacher- take a look:

What I bought: 1 Gift Card to Subway, 1 Gift Card to Gap, Markers and Post-It Strips.

Remember, I said I was at the grocery store, so while it would have been nice to embellish this or make the cards cuter, my time (and supplies!) were very limited! The pictures for this post were taken in my car… that is how last-minute this idea was!

I had my daughter sign a card for her and I wrote a simple thank you message and we stick the gift cards inside the envelope and called it good. My daughter loved giving her teacher something special on her last day.

Simple, EASY idea, but thoughtful- right? 🙂

  1. Amazing blog! Do you have any helpful hints for
aspiring writers? I’m planning to start my own website soon but I’m a little
lost on everything. Would you recommend starting with a free platform like WordPress or
go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m
completely confused .. Any suggestions? Thank you!

  2. As a sub, I say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Things like this mean a lot to us. Yes, we get paid, yes the ones looking for a job get experience. But a lot of us do it because we love doing it. We love knowing that we are appreciated by the teachers, administrators and parents. Thank you.
