Earth Day Activity Jar by The Gunny Sack

Hello Everyone! My name is Tonia and I blog at The Gunny Sack. I am excited to be here at Skip To My Lou today sharing one of my favorite things: Gifts In A Jar! I’ve made Pampering In A Jar, a Spa In A Jar and an Ice Skating Date In A Jar.

Since Earth Day is only a couple of weeks away, today’s jar is an Earth Day Activity Jar. It is a jar filled with some fun things for kids to do, as well as a treat. I typically use mason jars but since this gift in a jar is for a child, I used a plastic jar.

Before starting to assemble the Earth Day Activity Jar, download and print this free “Make a world of difference” label. Cut out the earth leaving a small border of white around it. Also, cut a 1/2 wide strip of white paper that is long enough to wrap around the jar. Mine was 11 inches long. Don’t worry it it doesn’t quite fit around the jar because the ends are hidden under the label.

Gather together a large plastic jar (I used a peanut butter jar with a blue lid)
A Small Silicone Flower Pot (This one was a Target Easter item)
Homemade Play Dough (See How To Make Play Dough)
Earth Crayon (See How To Make Crayons)
Gummy Worms
Packet of Seeds

Place all of the items in the jar. Secure the strip of white paper around the jar with adhesive dots so that the ends are in the front of the jar. Now, cover the ends by securing the Make A World Of Difference label of them with adhesive dots.

These would be a fun gift to give to your kids on Earth Day. They could also be assembled in a classroom by the kids!
