Cutting the strips to 8.5" wouldn't give you a 5" pocket. If you are using the cheaper version of felt, you could buy the 9" by 12" squares a just leave it 12". Super cute idea! Thanks!! However, asking cutting my first piece of felt to try out, there is no way I can get it to work if the strip is 3.5" x 8.5" (mine was actually 9" long). I took the picture above and enlarged it so it was "true to actual size" so that I could match it up exactly with my felt and made marks on where the folds were, and it seems like the strips should be cut to 3.5" x 11.5" to make a 3.5" x 5" pocket. Is anyone else noticing this? That size more accurately reflects the dimensions in all of your photos. ??? I’m super excited to make these!
