Hi! I’m Michelle from A Little Tipsy and I am thrilled to be here on Skip to My Lou today to share a fun summer camp craft idea!

With a house full of boys we are all about the pirates lately! My 4 year old and his cousin LOVE the show Jake and the Neverland Pirates so we decided to do some fun pirate gear.

Their first task was to make and sail their ship. Just turn a large cardboard box inside out and tape one side to a point with heavy duty packing tape.

Next, we made swords out of paint sticks. I cut one into three inch sections and helped them glue it to another paint stick. If you want them done fast use hot glue, but if you want them to last use something more permanent like E-6000 and let dry.

Next we made spy glasses with gray and yellow cardstock. Just roll up the gray and glue in place trimming off any extra. Then glue a thin strip of yellow on each end and make dots with a marker.

I’m fairly certain my son thought it was the best day ever as he played with his loot all day, long after his cousin had sailed home. Click over to see our whole pirate training camp with more activity ideas.
