Bake up some fun with the All-In-One

A huge thanks to Best Buy for helping us bake up some fun at Sweet!. We had a cookie decorating class with the amazing Bridget of Bake at 350. Thanks to  the cool new all-in-one computer we were able to skype with Bridget for our class.

This computer is great.  How useful to have one of these in your kitchen! I think it will become the new must have kitchen appliance.

Bridget generously shared her tips and tricks on cookie decorating. It was so easy to see her on the large screen. It is just like a TV.

We began our class by mixing up  some thick Royal icing and outlining our cookies with a round #3 pastry tip.

Then we flooded the middle with runny royal icing from squeeze bottles.

We finished the cookies with some special details.

Bridget gave us plenty of inspiration! You will want to check out her tutorials on Christmas Light Cookies and

Peppermint Candies

The best part with one of these all-in-one computers is you can view tutorials right in your kitchen--- no need to print out recipes.

We had a great time baking up some fun with new All-in-One!

One lucky student got to take a computer home!

She put it in her kitchen, but I know it will be enjoyed by the whole family. Since everything is built into the screen it is easy to move around!

Thank you Best Buy for a great evening!

Everyone had a Sweet! time!

A big thanks to Kristen of Dine and Dish for taking some great pictures of the event!

This is just a SMALL sampling of the Thanksgiving printable's (and other ideas) that can be found on last Monday's Made By You!  Thank you for sharing so many fabulous ideas each week!

This adorable tag from Shindig Parties is perfect to attach to all your little treats this Thanksgiving.

Maybe even a favor for your guests on Thanksgiving or attach a heartfelt note to a friend?

Thankful cards from The craft nest  ---love the idea to save them and pull them out next year

I love this idea of this printable invitation from Homespun with Love!  It includes leaves to fill out and be displayed on a Grateful tree as a center piece.

I also love this idea of teaching kids gratitude  from Tales of a trophy wife.

Make and Takes for kids giveaway {Guest Post} Contest closed

Congrats to lucky #23 , Denise Wilson!

Welcome Marie LeBaron from Make and Takes.  I'm excited for her to share a craft from her new book! Read on for your chance to win a copy of her new book!

Hi everyone! I'm happy to be here at Skip to My Lou sharing a festive fall craft from my recent kids craft book,  Make and Takes for Kids. This Crunched Leaf Plaque is the perfect decoration for the kids to help make and display for the fall season. You can also enjoy your time together as you gather the leaves from around your yard or over at the park.

Supplies for a Crunched Leaf Plaque:

  • 10–15 dried leaves
  • Large bowl
  • 4 × 24" piece of craft wood, 1/8" width
  • Orange craft paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Pencil
  • White craft glue

1. Paint your piece of wood with orange craft paint. Let this dry.

2. Using the photo as a guide, use your pencil to write “THANKFUL” in all capital letters on your painted board. Make sure the letters are evenly spaced across the board.

3. Trace the pencil letters with your white craft glue. Make sure each part of the letters is covered in a line of glue.

4. In a large bowl, crunch up your dried leaves. Try to get them as small as possible.

5. Sprinkle your crushed leaves onto your glue, shaking it around slightly to get each part of the glue covered in leaves. Shake off any excess leaves back into the bowl. Let your board dry overnight.

The kids are going to love to crunch up those leaves as they make a super cool sound. Have fun crafting for fall!

Thanks for stopping by Marie.
