I made the slots slightly wider and use them for my wrenches and screwdrivers! (which every mom should learn how to use blindfolded before their child hits the dreaded ‘will this fit in there?’ phase)

If you have an old, lightweight fridgemagnet that you’re not using, go ahead and glue that baby on there as well, and you will never loose a screw or nail again!

I have ironed clear contact paper on top of fabric to do pretty much the same thing. Just stick it on over the fabric, then use a hot iron with a tea towel in between.
