I have a few more crafty gifts to make, but having all the kids home has slowed progress. Today when I should have been finishing up we instead had a fry fest.
Sunday I took some fried ravioli to a party. I was running late and didn't have time to get them all fried, so today my boys begged for me to fry the rest. They were really simple to make and delicious. I used Giada De Laurentiis's recipe for fried ravioli.
First dip the ravioli (I used thawed, frozen four cheese ravioli) in buttermilk and then lightly dredge them in Italian seasoned bread crumbs. The raviolis I had breaded the day before also fried up beautifully--- so that part could be done ahead for a party.
Cook them for about 3 minutes in 325• oil (I used canola).
They turn out golden brown with a soft cheesy center. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and serve with warm marinara sauce.
Of course the oil was hot and the boys were still hungry so we finished our fry fest with french fries and onion rings. For the onion rings I sliced two onions and dipped the onion rings in a mixture of 1 cup buttermilk, 1/2 cup flour, 1 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper, 1/4 tsp paprika and 1/4 tsp pepper.
Thanks for taking the time to visit me today!

YUMMY! I can’t wait to try this!
Yum- Fried Ravioli is a fav at our house!
I’m making these same things for lunch today! I love these, and we make them about once a month. I fry mine in olive oil for the extra taste. They are so good! And addictive! My husband cals them ‘fried ruffles’ cause you can’t eat just one!
What a great idea – fried raviol! Never heard of such a variation. I will try that recipe soon.
Have a merry Christmas and a happy new year!

I ♥ fried ravioli. It became a favorite on a recent trip to New York. Thank you so much for sharing the recipe. I think that I will make some tonight!
Wow! That sounds awesome!!!
I know how much people like frying things, but Eeeek. I’d rather have my ravioli boiled and tossed, but then again I like my Oreos dipped in milk not oil
I just took these to an open house Sunday. They were scrumptious. No one can ever figure out how I do them and they’re so simple!
THANKS for the Onion Ring Recipe! I made it tonight and DH thought they were the BEST he had ever eaten, (that’s a GREAT COMPLIMENT, cause he is really picky with his onion rings)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for your fab blog you are one of the best! Have a great Holiday season!
I love fried ravioli. Pastabilities over here in Sydney put me on to it as they use them for taste testing at markets. They just put their frozen ravioli straight into the oil, so no need for breading them.
YUM! I haven’t ever made these at home because I know I’d eat the whole batch before I could stop myself. :>) I linked to this on my weekly roundup, post is under my name. Thanks! (and now I’m hungry . . . )
YUM!! All I need is another fried recipe
Made them love them hubby said best meal Ive ever made. Thanks for passing this on!
