The acorns in my area are about the size of my thumb and are not nearly as cute.

I LOVE THIS. I might just have to make one for me! We just got back from our cottage and I always bring back some fallen acorns. I have a special wooden bowl I put them in....and all year remind me of my special time at the cottage in the summer! I never thought of putting them in the toaster oven, I have always put them in a baggie and in the freezer for a week. I could make a few acorn hangers for our christmas tree! And other decorations around the house!
Thanks for the ideas
Jane!

I have often had trouble with worms that come out of the acorns as they start to try. I pop the acorns in my toaster oven at 200 degrees for awhile just to be sure they are dead. If the caps pop of, a dab of glue will take care of that. Wish I knew how to crochet!

That really is a perfect idea. My daughter loves to collect leaves, acorns, rocks, pinecones, etc., as well, so she will love this. Thanks!
