Derived from petroleum, they are known carcinogens, but what you might not know is their link to hyperactivity in children. So many parents think it&#039;s the sugar they&#039;re feeding their kids that makes them bounce off the walls, but it&#039;s really the artificials. Lest you think I&#039;m a stick in the mud, not letting kids have snow cones, there are lots of flavourful, non-carcinogenic, natural ways to make colourful treats.
