At our preschool a few years ago the kids made these and then put them into paper bag “cocoons” and rolled them up. A couple of days later at the open house for families, the kids opened their cocoons and the caterpillars had turned into butterflies – the teacher had clipped in painted coffee filters that the kids had made several days before (not knowing what they would be used for!) It was so cute to see them open the cocoons…

I am gong to make these with my little ones and add a magnet on the back. Then we can clip their artwork to the fridge.

I will have to try these with my grandchildren this Memorial weekend. They love doing crafts. How easy and cute!!
