Reuben Dip for St Patrick’s Day

When I posted  Super Bowl Snacks awhile back a reader left this yummy recipe in the comments.  It makes a great little snack to celebrate St. Patrick's Day!rubendip

Beth's Reuben Dip

1 cup corned beef (Carl Buddig) chopped
1 cup grated Swiss cheese
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
1 cup sauerkraut (drained)
1 cup  mayo (I used Hellman's Light)

Mix together in a crock pot and heat until bubbly. Serve with rye crackers (Beth likes triscuits!)(and I like toasted pumpernickel cocktail bread). Yum!

Happy St Patrick's Day!

Looking for beautiful unique toys and activities to help build your child's imagination? Sarah, of Imagine Childhood can help us out!
1giveaway

Sarah writes......

A year ago, my family and I started talking about how hard it was to find good quality gifts for kids, which quickly turned into a conversation about each of our favorite toys and memories from childhood. After a while we realized that our fondest memories, whether from growing up in the 60s or twenty years later in the 80s, were of time spent exploring and imagining. That's why we started imaginechildhood.com, a website that offers high quality durable toys, tools, and activities that encourage outdoor exploration, creativity, and imagination.

2giveawayToday we are giving away a $35 gift certificate to our store!  All you have to do to enter is take a trip over to the shop and tell us what your favorite item is in the comments for this post.

We would also like to offer a 15% discount for all Skip to my Lou readers for the duration of the Giveaway.  You have until this coming Sunday night at midnight to leave a comment.  The winner will be chosen by random number and will be announced a couple of days later!

I used Suzie's Crochet Shamrock Garland for the basic pattern. Suzie even has a pattern to make it into a shamrock pin.

Candy-gram encouragement for kids taking tests

Our kids are taking part in state testing this week and my cool friend Meegan had this cute idea to send a sweet note of encouragement to school.

"We know that you are no 'dum dum' so use your 'smarties' on your test! Good Luck!"

You can download the note card if you like (I included a blank card also). Print on card-stock, hot glue on the candy, hide in their notebook and you are good to go.
