Our Brother Ptouch label maker winner is Elizabeth.

Thanks for the over 400 comments!  It was so fun reading through them!

On Saturday a friend came over and helped me with my craft room.  She was amazing.  It became quite apparent that I could have never done this without her.  I urge you all to get past the embarrassment and ask for help. I used to think I was just lazy, and while there is some truth to that, I quickly realized I am lacking some organizational skills.  It might seem like an easy task to group “like” things together, or group things where they are used.  For me when I see an item it has many uses  and many possibilities so it truly helped to have someone walk me through the process!

It Gets Worse Before It Gets Better!

First, my sweet friend made me take everything out of the room. OH MY!

Thank goodness she was here.  After about 30 minutes of looking at this stuff I was totally overwhelmed and ready to stop. My son said, “Mom you would have stopped and all that mess would have stayed there for 8 weeks!”—–out of the mouths of babes.

My friend continued to give me words of encouragement the ENTIRE LONG day.  She might have been dying on the inside but never let me see even one single “eye roll” over the amount of ribbon and hole punches —-that is a true friend! I am thankful beyond words for her help!

I am not quite ready to post an update photo.  I will save that for the first of February like I promised.

One thing that helped was to have plenty of small containers to sort items. It was also important to me that it looked pretty. So to help one of you get organized in a fun and pretty way, the Container Store, is generously giving one lucky reader a $25.00 gift card.  Leave a little comment here before Sunday at midnight for a chance to win!

  1. I just keep reading books about getting organized in order to procrastinate the actual process! I have 3 kids–8, 6, 3 and most days it looks like a tornado has passed through out house. And to think when I became a stay at home mom with my firstborn I was going to be Martha Steward, Mrs. Clean and Betty Crocker all rolled in one! I”m hoping you inspire me to take on my own craft clutter!

  2. I have been trying to get organized for years. Not being able to find what I’m looking for not only dampers my creativity I get so frustrated I put away parially done layouts that sometimes also get lost in the mess. Thanks for the chance at a giveaway for something so practical and necessary.

  3. I really wish I had a friend like you have. I would love it if someone would come to help me organize my craft room. I am tired of having to re-buy things just because I can’t find them when I need them. A $25.00 gift to the Container Store would do me wonders!

  4. Wow! That’s a big job but it’s always wonderful when a friend helps you by encouraging you.
Thanks for the opportunity to win!

  5. Organized????? What is organized?????!!!!!
My craft table is now where I just store everything and my desk is where I craft. I am a terrible packrat and an even worse organizer. I would love to win something to help me try to keep some semblance of order around here!!!

  6. My craft room so looks way worse! You might think I’m kidding…nooooo! I was so organized before I got fibro but now I’m just lost. I need help and don’t have anyone to ask. I would love to win this just to get me started. Can’t wait to see your after pics so I can drool!

  7. I really need help. I am disabled and am in a three story house and I can only access the first floor. So the things I can get to I want really organized. I love the container store.
