I just tried this as a test run for a big batch for Christmas. Excellent results! I used Bob's Olde Tyme peppermint sticks since they are not wrapped AND they are the melt in your mouth kind...mmm

Great gift idea, my relatives are getting a lot of this for Christmas gifts this year.

I normally make this every year, but I use crushed up candy canes. I never thought of using a blender before! That's a great idea. A hammer and a zip-lock bag gets messy, especially when the bag gets holes in it from the sharp candy. I love the candy canes, because they come in all different flavors, and you can always find flavors that will suit everyone (since not everyone likes peppermint).

I made this just the other day with a slightly different recipe. I layered regular chocolate with white chocolate on top and then used crushed candy canes. It was sooooo yummy. I will definetely be trying it again.

MMMM.... Sounds so good! I think we'll make it for New Years and take it to our friends. Thanks for all of your great ideas! We made the ornaments for my kids teachers and they loved them.

A blender! Why didn't I think of that? I used cereal bags and a hammer for my peppermint biscotti. Next year.

Your treats look beautiful!

I love to make peppermint bark at Christmas time for gifts. This year I did it, but I do two layers. A bottom layer of chocolate chips. I used semi-sweet and it was divine! Three cups of chips to one pound of white stuff. Your idea of using the blender is really smart. I broke all mints by hand and I don't recommend it. Not only is it hard, it takes forever!

You can see a picture of the ones I made on my family blog: http://stier-family.blogspot.com/2008/12/christmassy-up-in-here.html

Yummm!!! Merry Christmas!
