Hello I just stumbled across this blog and I love it. I made this pie this past weekend. It was great but the only thing was it didn't turn out so Golden brown as yours. It seemed more like just plain chocolate pie. I baked it for about 45 min. It wasn't burned it tasted really good but I am not sure why it looked more choclately than yours did. Please help

I just lucked into finding your site and I love it!
I haven't ever seen teacher appreciation ideas before.
I will be trying some. I also love the recipes. I will be
trying the toll house pie among lots of other craft ideas.
Thanks for inspiring me.

Sounds yummy in the tummy. I'm going to make it with Splenda Blend for baking and Splenda brown sugar. You only have to use half the amount, and things always taste perfectly fine when I use them. I know it'll still have choc. chips, but at least I'll cut down on a little of the sugar. I'll let you know how it turns out when I make it!

No, I didn't make two layers. Just mix it up and pour into the pie shell. Sometimes it doesn't look so much like two layers-------maybe it is how foamy you make the eggs (I don't take a lot of time to try to make them foamy or it could be the temperature of the melted butter---I make this pie so quickly that the butter doesn't have long to cool before adding it to the mixture. It always seems to taste the same though. I hope you give it a try! Let me know how it goes!
