		<description>My husband used to do something similar to this when he was a teenager.  For a version with a little more safety, you can get a swimming pool foam noodle (the basic round type with a hole in the middle), and slide it over the PVC pipe.  It&#039;s a very nice fit.  He would then wrap the whole &quot;sword&quot; in duct tape so it would stay together.

The end result is a bulkier sword, and while you can still hurt someone if you&#039;re really swinging hard, you&#039;re a lot less likely to get bruised knuckles and black eyes from normal play.</description>
